About Us (Who We are):

Shree Shwetamber Murtipujak Jain Boarding was founded in the year 1908 with the blessings and inspiration from Achartya Shri Buddhi Sagar Suriji Maharaj.

Founder of the trust Shri Lallubhai Raiji Jhaveri established the Boarding with the the blessings of Acharyashri in a rented accommodation at Nagorishala, Ratanpole, Ahmedabad. Since then, the boarding is traditionally known as L. R. Jain Boarding. The boarding shifted to a new building of its own on Ashram Road in the year 1930 and a new modern building on Ahmedabad’s Drive in Road in the year 1992. Over past 100 years, students from the boarding have excelled in their chosen field of career and have settled in different parts of India and abroad.

This hostel building on Drive in Road is equipped with all modern facilities. The boarding admits Shwetamber Jain boys for higher education on the basis of their merits in HSC Exams. Along with all the modern facilities like hygenic triple sharing rooms, Meeting Hall, Dining Hall, Library and AC Reading Room the boarding building also has a Jain temple offering Jain Sanskars to the total capacity of 70 students. In addition, the boarding campus is full of large lush green trees & plants, large lawn and sports facilities like Valley Ball, Table tennis and Cricket, which keeps the boarding atmosphere very cheerful and live.

Students who clear their 12th Standard (HSC) Exams from Science, Commerce or Arts are admitted based on their merits. Students from all over Gujarat, Parts of Rajasthan and Maharashtra come to L. R. Jain Boarding for their higher education.

In addition to providing the Hostel Facilities to Jain Boys, the trust also carries on various Charitable Activities like Educational Help, Medical Help, Sadharmik help and Food Grain help through a number of institutions under its management.

The trust is actively managed by a Group of Trustees and a Managing Committee at present. The trust is fortunate to have illustrious citizens of Ahmedabad like Shri Kasturbhai Lalbhai, Shri Shrenik Kasturbhai, Shri Keshavlal Lallubhai Jhaveri as its illustrious trustees, who have contributed immensely to the growth of Trust Activities.
